  1. Data are shown as means ± SD for continuous variables. Changes in medication adherence were assessed in 24 patients since data were not available for 5 patients. Changes in hemoglobin A1c were assessed in 20 patients who were not treated with insulin injections (9 patients treated with insulin therapy were excluded from the analysis)
